the boss (who climbs mountains and runs marathons and complains young lawyers work too much and don’t exercise and prophesises strokes and dementia and being scythed in our prime, k.t.l.) in the guise of promoting staff welfare and healthy living, signed up all the junior lawyers of the firm for a yoga class at the studio in our building (having paid for all of the class fees to boot!!) he then spent all of yesterday nagging everyone into bringing their p.e. gear, and today at 6.30 sharp came galumphing down the corridor, scattering papers and flushing protesting people out of their rooms (‘submissions? do later lah’), and herding us upstairs. i can report i’m aching — but the upside is that we’ve all been told to go home early tonight, and everyone has obediently buggered off.
