perplexed: ​when i had my root canal some years ago that felt like an awfully delicate operation, it took nearly two hours with nifty instruments of minuscule proportions and patient filing, but i looked like a lop-sided chipmunk for days after. having your wisdom teeth out feels like a brute excavation (mallets and chisels and drills!) and i hated every moment (it felt so much more traumatic) and yet the only puffiness is from the wads of cotton gauze i’m biting on.

(also, one would be ravenously hungry immediately after.)
