julian and minz go from salt to more salt

j: here’s what i think. we are going to hit 40 and then have a terrible midlife crisis. our lives are so precarious.

me: nah, i had my quarter life crisis long ago.

j: you get both. i bet when you’re 40 you’ll look at your english professor friends and go why am i not tenured like all of them.

me: thank you, but i do have a second career, you know.

j: nah, you’re just kidding yourself. you see, at some point everybody looks back and turns into a pillar of salt!!!

me: i already turned into salt once when i switched fields!

j: trust me, it’ll happen again.

me: what? you mean in life we just go from salt to more salt?

j: that’s about right.

me: oh dear, we are not drunk enough for this conversation, i think.
