this 10min film was conceptualised by my dear friend, josephus tan, who is one of the great volunteers in the legal profession. it was shown this past monday as part of a call for young lawyers to take on pro bono criminal cases.

singapore does not have a public defender’s office. state-funded legal aid is only available for capital cases; legal aid for other kinds of criminal cases are coordinated by the pro bono services office and entirely dependent on the goodwill, generosity and time of volunteer lawyers.
