2.40a.m., all constituencies have declared, and we’re still waiting for the recount in aljunied. this has been a stupendous election: all the pundits had predicted a close fight, and i was expecting to be in a very subdued mood by this time, but even my constituency, which was always going to be a landslide victory for a certain party, saw a 7% swing (my vote not apparently wasted then.) scarce daring to believe the sample counts early in the night, waiting for confirmation after confirmation by the returning officer, more relieved than pleased by the result just now, but i expect by tomorrow i’m going to be feeling perkier.
