folia magazine, you are a joy, and since you came into my life i bewail daily the fact i don’t read italian. (why, why did i choose to study german over italian? i know at the time julian kept going on about the pleasures of eating sauerkraut (i think he was reading thomas bernhard), but i don’t even like sauerkraut, so that cannot be why.) even automatic translation on chrome doesn’t assuage my feelings; it just makes me feel horribly uneducated. i need more research languages. come to that, i would like to go back to grad school and write a beautiful dissertation in comparative lit dealing with riddles and metaphor. (last term during company law seminar walter woon asked me what my previous degree was in, and i had to admit i had not one but two of them in various periods of english literature. he tried to make the best of it by saying everything is useful, but i could see he thought i have an MBA would’ve been a much better answer.) pshaw!
