i do wish our electioneering methods didn’t stay stuck in the 70s. loudhailers on the back of lorries? this is not a kampong any longer, and what can you meaningfully say as you drive by? shove flyers down my letterbox by all means, shake hands at the train station, podcast your speeches, send volunteers around my home. old methods only mire us in old modes of thinking, old ways of conceiving battles and battlelines. to persist is not a mere tactical error, it is an intellectual error.
