Saturday:

Minz-Papa: I don’t feel good here. When can I go home. I want to be out as soon as possible.

Sunday:

Minz-Papa: Hey I walked 12meters today. My physiotherapist was most impressed with my progress. And I knew how do all the exercises already!
Me: Huh. Don’t get overconfident. Pride comes before a FALL!

Monday:

Minyin: So how’s your dad’s physiotherapy going? Is he still the star pupil?
Me: Very much the star pupil! At this rate he’d practically be on the Dean’s List.

Tuesday:

(Doing so well in fact, that the ward nurse came to see him.)

‘Mr Heng, could you talk to someone?’
‘Who?’
‘It’s this patient who is undecided about his knee surgery and very nervous. We thought maybe you can talk to him to help him make up his mind.’

[Minz-Papa extols the virtues of knee surgery and does a demo stroll with walking stick around his hospital room; other patient’s eyes widen in wonder]

‘And you’re sure you have only been here since Saturday?’
‘Yes, and it doesn’t hurt.’

Us, variously: Fwah. From reluctant hobbler on stick to poster child for scared prospectives. Well done.
