chronicle readers have no doubt already seen this, but here are 88 college taglines arranged as a poem. there is at least one senior thesis that can be written about the sociology of american higher education and admissions and college marketing and the aspirations of the populace and it would be funnier if it were not also terribly sad. (although i nearly sputtered when i found that the university of chicago was on the list.)and just to get that thesis writer going, here’s a resource to search any higher education institute tagline here (thank jefferson uva hasn’t got one, i couldn’t have borne it.)
