sometimes the curious, compellingly beautiful and highly-improbable constructed habitats on architizer make me think of the fabulously precarious cities of invisible cities: combinations of personal caprice and environmental constraint, statements of wilful extravagance and fatalist sagacity, the mindfully bizarre and the mindlessly elegant. wouldn’t we love to write a new volume of archaeological-anthropological musings based on these projects?
also a few days ago singapore’s national design centre made it onto their featured project of the day page! (though my one visit there with addy was disappointing — but we also didn’t explore the full space, only the foyer. perhaps i should go back during the summer hols and look at these bits!)
